VuTransfer
Password-protected file sharing for sensitive packages
A download link is convenient. A password on that link is a second lock when the files are confidential. VuTransfer combines encryption, expiration, and password-protected transfers on Ultimate.
Why a link alone is not always enough
Transfer links are easy to forward. That is useful for a trusted client thread and risky if the same URL lands in a group chat, a ticket, or an old email thread. A password—shared through a different channel— means a leaked link is not automatically a leaked file.
How password-protected transfers work on VuTransfer
- Upload files and create a transfer as usual.
- On Ultimate, set a password before you share the link.
- Send the link in email or chat, and the password by a separate path when the content is sensitive.
- Combine this with an expiration date so access does not last longer than the project.
When to require a password
Use a password for legal drafts, unpublished creative work, credentials-adjacent archives, and any package you would not want sitting in a forwarded inbox. For everyday, low-sensitivity sends, expiration and a tightly shared link are often enough. See how to send files securely for the full checklist.
